Haiku and Haikai
Yahantei was the name that Japanese poet and painter Yosa Buson (1716-1783) assumed when he officially became a haikai master. The name means "Midnight Studio;" it originally belonged to his teacher, Hayano Hajin (1676-1742). Weblog Yahantei is C A Crowley's reflections on haiku, haikai and teaching Japanese literature at a US university.
